IcyBox started out as a watch app. Its version 3 update on August 25 added bags, and on October 1 the company announced handbags as its biggest expansion yet. If you've read our IcyBox review, the mechanics haven't changed: pick a box, open it, then keep it, ship it or sell it back. What changes with bags is what you should check before you buy, and what you need to do after you win. We went through IcyBox's website, support pages, Terms of Service and App Store listing to pull out what's actually confirmed.
The Short Answer
The bags are real listings from the brands people actually search for, and the app works the same way it did when we bought a box ourselves. Three things matter more with a bag than with a watch: IcyBox's terms don't guarantee authenticity, shipping takes weeks, and anything you don't ship within 7 days gets sold back for you at 90% of its listed value.
So the same rule applies as with watches. Treat it as entertainment with a hard budget, and enjoy the reveal. If what you really want is one specific bag, buy that bag.

Two honest notes on that list. First, these are the grails, the pieces that make the ads. The lower tiers on each box hold far cheaper items: on the $50 Bronze box, our own first pull was a $22 watch. Nothing on the website says what the lower-tier bags are, so check each box's item list in the app before you buy.
Second, the value is IcyBox's number. A bag's resale price swings with the leather, color, hardware and condition, and with whether the box and dust bag come with it. Two listings for the same model can sell thousands of dollars apart, which is a bigger spread than most watches see.
Where to Find the Odds Now
IcyBox used to post every box's odds on its website, which is how we pulled all five for our odds breakdown in August. It doesn't anymore. The odds now live inside the app: tap any box and a screen shows the chance of landing in each rarity tier, plus the value range for each one. Before you open a box hoping for a bag, check three things on that screen.
Are bags in this box?
The homepage says every box holds watches and bags. Scroll the box's item list and make sure the bags you actually want are in it.
The bottom two tiers
When we pulled the odds in August, about half of all pulls on every box landed in Common or Uncommon. Their value range is the honest picture of a typical result.
The top tier
In August, the $250 Ruby box had better Grail odds (3.0%) than the $1,000 Icy box (0.4%). More money does not automatically mean a better shot at the big bags.
Are IcyBox Bags Authentic?
This is the first question anyone should ask about a Birkin that came out of an app, so here's exactly what IcyBox says. Its homepage promises “Authentic watches and bags.” Its Terms of Service, last updated March 3, 2026, say IcyBox doesn't offer any guarantee or warranty on the authenticity of any item. Its App Store listing adds that it doesn't guarantee an item will be new or unworn.
Both can be true at once. Plenty of companies sell authentic goods and still write their terms this way. But it means the authenticity promise is marketing, not something you could hold them to. That matters more with handbags than with almost anything else, because designer bags are among the most counterfeited luxury goods and a good fake is hard to spot without an expert.
Our advice: if you pull a bag worth thousands and plan to keep it or resell it yourself, pay an independent authentication service to check it first. If you're going to sell it back to IcyBox anyway, authenticity is IcyBox's problem, not yours.
Keep, Ship or Sell: The Fine Print for Bags
Everything below comes from IcyBox's own support pages and Terms of Service, checked October 22, 2026.
| What | What IcyBox Says |
|---|---|
| Selling back | Instant and final. The value goes to your withdrawable balance, and a sale can't be undone. |
| Not shipping | Unshipped items are held for 7 days, then sold back automatically at 90% of their listed value. |
| Shipping time | 15 to 20 business days to leave the warehouse, plus the carrier's delivery time. |
| Shipping cost | Varies by item and address. Anything worth $500 or more must be insured. |
| Cashing out | $6 minimum, and fees vary by method. Venmo takes 1 to 5 business days. A standard bank transfer takes 2 to 5, or about a day on weekdays with Same-Day. |
| Buyback price | Set by IcyBox alone. Its terms say it doesn't disclose how that price is calculated. |
The 7-day rule is the one to remember. If you land a bag you want to keep, ship it within 7 days, or IcyBox sells it for you at 90% of its listed value. On a $10,500 Chanel, waiting too long costs $1,050. If you'd rather have the cash, selling right away beats letting the clock run out: when we sold back our own pull, we got the full listed value. More on how that number is set in IcyBox buyback pricing explained.
Also budget for the wait. With 15 to 20 business days before a bag even leaves the warehouse, a bag you pull in late November could easily miss Christmas, so don't plan a holiday gift around it.
Who This Makes Sense For
Worth Trying
- Anyone who'd enjoy the reveal and has set a hard budget before opening the app
- Bag fans who'd be happy to sell back whatever lands and keep the cash
- People who check the odds screen and item list before every box
Skip It
- If you want a specific Birkin or Chanel flap, buy that bag from a reseller that guarantees authenticity
- If you'd keep buying boxes to chase a bag you didn't get
- Anyone under 18 (IcyBox's terms set 18 as the minimum), or in a state where the app isn't available

Our Take
Bags make IcyBox more fun to open, and they don't change the math: the odds are published, the house keeps an edge, and the big pieces are a real shot you shouldn't count on. The bag-specific advice is simple. Check the item list and odds in the app before every box, ship anything you want to keep within 7 days, and get a valuable bag authenticated before you trust it or resell it.
